      <title>Anxiety and depression in patients with post-COVID-19 comorbities</title>
      <link>http://dspace.ufdpar.edu.br/jspui/handle/prefix/716</link>
      <description>Título: Anxiety and depression in patients with post-COVID-19 comorbities

Abstract: Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought significant impacts on mental health, increas-&#xD;
ing conditions such as anxiety and depression. The negative impact was even bigger among the&#xD;
population with chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. Fear of contamination,&#xD;
social isolation, lack of medical follow-up, and changes in lifestyle have contributed to the wors-&#xD;
ening of these disorders. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess anxiety and depression&#xD;
levels and quality of life in individuals with pre-existing comorbidities post COVID-19. Methods:&#xD;
This is a cross-sectional study with a descriptive and analytical approach. The study included 125&#xD;
individuals divided in healthy group and chronically ill group. Behavioral and clinical character-&#xD;
istics were evaluated, such as physical activity after COVID-19, smoking, alcohol consumption,&#xD;
pre-existing comorbidities, and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Results: The study high-&#xD;
lighted that the patients with diabetes and hypertension suffered the most from anxiety and de-&#xD;
pression possibly due to the higher susceptibility to coronavirus infection and the negative impact&#xD;
of these pre-existing conditions on mental health. In hypertensive individuals, the complex inter-&#xD;
action between emotional stress, anxiety, and cardiovascular system dysregulation contributed to&#xD;
increased levels of anxiety and depression. Obesity, besides a risk factor for severe COVID-19, it&#xD;
also negatively impacted the immune system and had adverse effects on mental health, with an&#xD;
increase in depressive and anxious symptoms. Conclusion: This study emphasizes the need of&#xD;
special care to at-risk groups to minimize adverse impacts on mental health and improve the qual-&#xD;
ity of life of individuals with pre-existing comorbidities post COVID-19.

      <description>Título: Eficácia Da Terapia Manual E Da Cinesioterapia No Controle Da Dor Em Lesões De Manguito Rotador: Uma Revisão Integrativa

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Injuries to the upper limbs are very common and are related to both traumatic and degenerative causes. Due to the complexity of these injuries, the initial treatment involves the use of drugs. However, it is necessary to focus on therapeutic approaches that provide benefits beyond simple symptomatic relief. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness of physiotherapeutic procedures with a focus on manual therapy and kinesiotherapy in controlling pain in patients with rotator cuff injuries. METHODS: This study consists of an integrative review of the literature, taking the PICOT research strategy as a starting point and structuring, followed by the guiding question, the search or sampling of literature, eligibility criteria, data collection, and the results found in the search , ending with a discussion and conclusion on the topic covered. RESULTS: A total of twelve (12) articles were included as a sample for this review, using as eligibility criteria articles that included the use of some physical therapy technique and/or manual resource to treat pain resulting from rotator cuff injuries, with studies being selected of the last 10 years. The articles chosen included a systematic review, case study, meta-analysis, case report and randomized controlled clinical trial. DISCUSSION: The review showed that manual therapy and kinesiotherapy are effective in controlling pain in rotator cuff injuries, with kinesiotherapy showing longer-lasting benefits. The combination of therapies demonstrated synergistic results, but the variability of studies limits generalization. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that manual therapy and kinesiotherapy are promising, but further studies are needed.
