Abstract: The pandemic of COVID-19 represents one of the greatest recent health challenges. There was
a need to reorganize the work process of the Primary Health Care teams in order to meet both
the demand for mitigation of the cases of COVID-19 and to maintain the regular supply of its
actions. OBJECTIVE: To understand the work process in the Family Health Strategy regarding
the assistance to Systemic Arterial Hypertension in the city of Floriano-PI, in the context of the
pandemic of the new coronavirus, focusing on the changes that occurred and the new work
arrangements. METHODOLOGY: This is narrative research with a qualitative approach carried
out with ten professionals from the Family Health Strategy of Floriano-PI, through interviews.
The analysis of information was performed according to the Content Analysis technique
proposed by Laurence Bardin, from which three categories emerged: Reorganization of the
work process for monitoring of hypertensive patients: before and during the pandemic; Barriers
to monitoring of hypertensive patients in the pandemic period; and Repercussion of changes in
treatment adherence by hypertensive patients. RESULTS: It was noticed the centralization of
the PHC teams' actions for drug treatment, little offer of promotion and prevention actions,
besides making clear the relevance of issues such as risk stratification of hypertensive patients
and the registration of people and families, the need for articulation with other points of
specialized care to ensure the completeness of care and the adoption of the use of PPE as a form
of protection. In the process of resuming care, it was observed the prioritization of the most
severe cases and the dispensing of prescriptions and medications, the active search by
community agents, scheduled care by appointment, vaccination against COVID-19, and the
incorporation of information technology were strategies used for the resumption of actions.
Regarding the obstacles related to the care of hypertensive patients during the pandemic period,
the fear of both the team and the population, the loss of the habit of going to the Unidade Básica
de Saúde (Basic Health Unit), and the team's overload with vaccinations were highlighted. In
the category that discussed the repercussions brought about by this reorganization process, there
was evidence of losses in adherence to hypertension treatment and an increase in complications
and deaths. CONCLUSIONS: The incomplete registration and risk stratification of
hypertensive patients, as well as the difficulty in articulating with specialized assistance and the
low offer of promotional activities contributed to the low effectiveness of assistance. The active
search, vaccination, appointment assistance, and the use of technology were fundamental for
the resumption of activities and for the registration and risk stratification, although vaccination overloaded the nursing staff, showing a failure in the operationalization of the campaign. The
inequality perceived in the way the teams work together with the lack of information about the
indicators was another obstacle found. The recognition by professionals of the importance of
registration and risk stratification is a favorable point. The fragility of PHC was evident.

Título: Experiências de gestantes diante das medidas de prevenção e controle da covid-19 em Teresina, Piauí

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: The COVID-19 pandemic led the World Health Organization to
implement measures aimed at minimizing the spread of the virus. Pregnant women are
particularly susceptible to respiratory pathogens and psychological changes due to
physiological and hormonal changes imposed by pregnancy. In this context, measures such as
social isolation can exacerbate different emotions, feelings and reactions in these women.
OBJECTIVES: To understand the experiences of pregnant women in the face of COVID-19
prevention and control measures and are followed up at the Dr. Félix Francisco Pereira Batista
Basic Health Unit in Teresina, Piauí. METHODOLOGY: Qualitative research guided by the
interpretive paradigm, carried out from interviews, guided by a semi-structured script, with
pregnant women in the period between April and August 2021. Transcription and data analysis
occurred manually, adopting the theoretical framework of Gadamer's hermeneutics associated
to the contributions of Paul Ricoeur. The present study is part of the project entitled "Prevention
and control of COVID-19: Multicenter Study on the perception and practices in the daily life
of medical-scientific guidelines by the population of the territories covered by Primary Health
Care". RESULTS: The analysis of the interviews generated two units of meaning, namely:
being pregnant has times of pandemic; and, health care for pregnant women in times of a
pandemic. In general, women reported anguish and fear caused mainly by social isolation and
uncertainties with pregnancy and childbirth. It was also reported on the active search carried
out by health professionals to maintain prenatal care, the difficulties faced in carrying out an
ultrasound and dissatisfaction with government actions in dealing with the pandemic.
CONCLUSION: In view of the effects of the pandemic, we highlight the need for attention to
the feelings and reactions of pregnant women in addition to the development of actions to
optimize health care. There were losses in prenatal follow-up and, therefore, paying attention
to better organization and functioning of the health service is essential to guarantee
consultations, exams and reception of their demands.

Abstract: The present study aims to evaluate the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women assisted in
Primary Health Care about COVID-19 and the associated factors. A systematic review of the
literature and a field study were performed. The systematic review of the literature was carried
out in December 2020, in four databases: PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus and

BIREME/LILACS, using the PECO tool and the terms MESH "Pregnant women", "COVID-
19", "prenatal" and synonymous words. The research revealed 1,245 studies. Only original

primary articles published in English, Portuguese or Spanish, with quantitative study design or
mixed method studies were included in this review. A total of 23 studies met the inclusion
criteria. The reviewers selected the titles and abstracts according to the eligibility criteria and
performed the data extraction. The risk of bias and the quality of the studies were evaluated
using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS). The factor associated with COVID-19 were changes
in the mental status of pregnant women, especially increased symptoms of anxiety or
depression, followed by clinical changes, such as higher rates of hospitalization and icu stay.
In addition, some ethnic groups are shown to be more vulnerable in this scenario. Pregnant
women experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic or infected with the virus are clinically and
psychologically more, especially some ethnic groups (black and Hispanic). The second part of
the study is an observational, analytical and cross-sectional field research developed with the
sample of pregnant women (n= 70), who performed prenatal follow-up in Primary Health Care
in the municipality of Parnaíba-PI. The data test occurred from April to October 2021, and was
based on a questionnaire from the Knowledge and Attitude survey regarding COVID19 among
Pregnant Women in Southwestern Iran in the Early Period of its Outbreak: A Cross-Sectional
Study composed of information on sociodemographic characteristics, obstetric history and
questions with content about knowledge and attitude towards COVID-19. Subsequently, a
statistical analysis of the descriptive type was performed by reading the absolute (N) and
relative (%) frequencies. Pearson's chi-square and binomial statistical tests were used to test the
hypothesis of association between the levels of knowledge and attitude of pregnant women with
sociodemographic characteristics. Only a significant association was detected between the
variables attitude and marital status, with single women having a higher rate of negative attitude
towards COVID-19. Although most of the participants in the present study present adequate
knowledge and positive attitude about COVID-19, they are concerned about their health of their
babies, in addition, there was an association between marital status and attitude.

Abstract: This study aimed to understand the practices adopted by pregnant and postpartum women
in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. For this, qualitative research in health was
developed from an interpretive paradigm. The research universe comprised women in the
pregnancy-puerperal cycle who were followed up at a basic health unit in Batalha, Piauí,
Brazil. The convenience sample consisted of women in the pregnancy-puerperal cycle and
the criterion of theoretical saturation was used. Data production was carried out through
non-directive interviews, using a semi-structured script. The participants mentioned dealing
with a world of habits and particular routines to face them, protecting the specificities of the
female gaze in Brazilian culture and family. With the COVID-19 pandemic, some support
services for women and pregnancy were harmed and the Family Health teams had to
reinvent themselves to ensure continuity of care in the safe monitoring of pregnant and
postpartum women. By observing the analyzed aspects, it is concluded that the COVID-19
pandemic brought significant effects to pregnant and postpartum women, reflected in all
phases of the pregnancy-puerperal cycle and health care practices.
