Eficácia Da Terapia Manual E Da Cinesioterapia No Controle Da Dor Em Lesões De Manguito Rotador: Uma Revisão Integrativa

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Injuries to the upper limbs are very common and are related to both traumatic and degenerative causes. Due to the complexity of these injuries, the initial treatment involves the use of drugs. However, it is necessary to focus on therapeutic approaches that provide benefits beyond simple symptomatic relief. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness of physiotherapeutic procedures with a focus on manual therapy and kinesiotherapy in controlling pain in patients with rotator cuff injuries. METHODS: This study consists of an integrative review of the literature, taking the PICOT research strategy as a starting point and structuring, followed by the guiding question, the search or sampling of literature, eligibility criteria, data collection, and the results found in the search , ending with a discussion and conclusion on the topic covered. RESULTS: A total of twelve (12) articles were included as a sample for this review, using as eligibility criteria articles that included the use of some physical therapy technique and/or manual resource to treat pain resulting from rotator cuff injuries, with studies being selected of the last 10 years. The articles chosen included a systematic review, case study, meta-analysis, case report and randomized controlled clinical trial. DISCUSSION: The review showed that manual therapy and kinesiotherapy are effective in controlling pain in rotator cuff injuries, with kinesiotherapy showing longer-lasting benefits. The combination of therapies demonstrated synergistic results, but the variability of studies limits generalization. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that manual therapy and kinesiotherapy are promising, but further studies are needed.
